1924 model T

I've just inherited a 1924 fully (and immaculately) restored Model T, and the insurance company has asked me to put a value on it for insurance purposes. I have no idea, and haven't been able to find anyone who can. Can anyone out there help? I don't want to sell it because of the family connections, but it needs to be fully insured

NADA says a '26 Model T (they don't go back further) pickup, which I assume you have since this is a truck board is about $19,000 for high value. This would be a near perfect car, not totalyl museum quality, but still nice. Average value is about $9500, this would be for a nice car, good mechanical shape, driveable, basically what's called a "20 foot" car. Meanign from 20 feet it would look just about perfect. NADA prices are a little on the high side usually...but would still be a good place to base a value off of for insurance. Model T prices are pretty stable, the market isn't real large for them since they are difficult to use in modern traffic. But for a value in your market and all, I would look for a place that does appraisals of classic cars...try looking online, you should find one in your area hopefully. You would have to pay to have the appraisal done, but for insurance it would be worth it. Sounds like you have a nice find there...hope some of this will be of help to you.

Thanks for that, very helpful.

2 questions. What is Nada, and what currency are your prices based on//...I am assuming $US....but I live in New Zealand so would need to translate it to our currency

There is some confusion about the age. I was originally told 1926 but when I got the original Government registration paperwork it said 1924

Wow, New Zealand, that opens a whole other can of worms...those values are stated in US dollars...to get values in NZ you'd need to find an appraiser there to do it for you. NADA is a book published that lists values for cars and trucks, they also have a section that is all classics and antiques...it's similar to types used by used car dealers to determine market value of a used vehicle. Here is a link to NADA"s website:
