Vacuum line elbow availability -1995 351
I've got the notorious Air vent problem that makes my ventilation direction swap all over the place from the defrost to the floor to the vent. I'm sure you guys know about this one. Anyway (this is on a 95 F-250 351, by the way)I started checking vacuum lines, and the first thing I looked at was the source port on the intake manifold. There's maybe 1/4 or 3/16 inch nipple on the manifold, and connecting to that is a 90 degree rubber elbow about 3 inches long. This dude was all cracked up and a likely leaker.
The ratty thing is that the size of the 3 inch line is different on either end. It's (maybe) a 1/4 inch on the end that connects to the manifold and maybe a 3/8 inch on the other end, which connects to a hard plastic tube heading back to a switch near the firewall.
The local Ford dealer says these parts are not available. They say the book says 'improvise'. Are they putting me on? I hate to have to rig some goofy reducer or something. Anyone run into this one before?
Thanks,
G
