Ranger, do you have a picture of your front diff? Unless someone swapped my front axle, then it should've been D60 from factory, but yet it really looks smaller than any other front D60 I know of. But I am unfamiliar with Ford axles too.
Also, would you know the cut direction and spline count on your axles?
Thanks

Ranger, first off, that's a really nice job with the resto. Feel free to come do up my '78 anytime
Second, thanks for the picture. I just found out that not only do I have a D60 front axle, but an RC D60 front, rarest of the rare front axles. Reverse cut, and high pinion.
This article by a fellow Canadian shed more light on the subject. Needless to say what a gold mine this truck has been to me. Literally a few more minutes would've had this beauty lying in a scarp yard.

Thanks again everyone for all the helpful info. The drivetrain in my truck is superb, and the tonne of money I saved only means a bigger and better truck will be built. The axles, tranny, and t-case are a very sweet treat. The engine I'm iffy on, but if I do rebuild it, it'll have the 400 conversion and probably a fuel injection kit. I got lots of pieces of the puzzle to complete, but damn winter is coming up and I got plenty of time to decide
