The MAP sensor and the BP sensor look alike, and have the same connection, but are not interchangeable, to my knowledge. From what I read in the service manuals, the MAP sensor sends out an ac signal like a 'tone' which varys according to manifold pressure. The BP sensor is a variable resistor which sends a voltage between 1.3 and 1.7 volts, depending on barometric pressure when the engine is started.
The MAP sensor is used on engines without mass air.
