Hey FMC guru's. I have a 79 F/100 XLT with a window crank problem. The shafts on my window units are shorter than the ones I find in the salvage yard. The handle on my passenger side fits correctly and the part number looks like D60B-652334-2AA. The screw in the center fits well, because the screw recess is way deeper. The **** came off the crank on the driver's side, and when I pulled a used crank in the salvage yard, I found the hub part was too short for the screw to penetrate the shaft far enough to hold. The part number of driver's side crank and the one from the salvage yard are D6AB-602334-2AA. What's going on here? Any help would be appreciated.
I might not have explained it well enough, but the screw length is not the problem. I have window cranks that aren't "normal" for a 73-79 ford. Was hoping that someone else had run across this problem.
<I have an extra pair of the correct cranks # D6AB-652334-2AA that came out of a 79 Bronco. They fit my 78 f-100. If you want to make me an offer. e-mail me at sszoldra@earthlink.netStanley>
Stanley, thanks, but those will not work in my truck. Evidently, the regulators have been changed, looks like from a 70's large car. I need a D60B crank.
Dennis, thanks, That's the kind of info I needed. I'll give it another try at the salvage yard, but I might need your help to find one. Give me a couple days here. If I could figure out how to, I'd post a picture showing the difference in the cranks. Maybe later. Mitch.
I'm gonna need your help. I can't for the life of me find the window crank (D60B-652334-2AA) here in my area. The local dealer might have well been KMart. I would have emailed you, but I haven't met the minimum required posts to get your email. If I don't find the crank, that means I've got to replace two perfectly good window regulators to get me back to something that'll work together. The 73-79 truck cranks are easy to find locally.
The **** is the clear one Dennis. I have taken a picture and have it on my harddrive, but I can not for the life of me find any step-by-step information about how to add it to my album. I had no problem making the album, and have no problem attaching pictures to my email, but this is confusing. And I wish all those little smilies to my right would be still...they're very distracting.
I just don't have another 2 hours tonight to muddle through the forums by dial-up, trying to figure out something that should be simple.
