How do I wire a tachometer gauge up?

Question How do I wire a tachometer gauge up?

I have a 1990 Ford XLT Short Bed Ex-cab 2x4 V8 302 EFI and I'm wounding how to wire up a tachometer gauge? I heard somehting about a coil wire or something. Where would I find thet wire and what color would it be?
Also what RPM max should I get? A 8,000 RPM or ????

How do I wire a tachometer gauge up?

On the coil , the TACH signal is from the - negative terminal on the coil.
You can also patch into the wire from the ignition module.

Colors of wires? I forget
