Ignition switch replacement 94 Explorer
I am re-keying the door locks on my explorer, the keys wont open the doors anymore. No problem replacing the door locks, but how do I get the ignition switch out? It looks like it should be rotated to a "certain" position and it comes out. Am I close? I've had all the plastic off around the steering column and messed with it for a while but didn't have any luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chad

Tilt the steering wheel up if you can and look between the pivot yokes on the right side of colum for a hole going up at about a 45 degree angle. Rotate the cylinder 1 click clockwise with the key in cylinder. Stick a long-small bladed screwdriver in the hole and depress the locking pin on the ignition cylinder, then pull the cylinder outward.
Installation is reverse of above. Start out with key in the turned 1 click, manually depress pin, drop cylinder in hole then rotate key to off position to re-engage lock pin.
