incredibly stiff rear door hinges, getting worse over time
2003 E150
The main rear door, passenger side with latch, has become increasingly stiff to open and shut... at first I thought something was warped but it is definitely getting worse. There is some material coming through the hinge. All other doors are fine.
It's so stiff that the action of trying to close the door flexes on the hinge and the body... is there anything I can do about this?

If your truck is similar to my 2003, the material is a "mesh" that both separates the sides of the hinge *and* originally held/carried some lube. After time the lube dries and the mesh wears down, then falls apart and protrudes from the hinge. I had it happen suddenly during the winter season (makes sense) several years ago. I used a needle-nose plier to pull the (sharp) pieces of mesh out, then (the infamous) PB Blaster and elbow grease to work the hinges. Once they were semi-free, I used, and continue to use Break-Free's CLP (I have it in the house for other reasons...) to keep them lubed and free.
