Anyone have an issue with the driver or passanger door popping back open when you slam it shut. It doesn't latch the first or even the third time sometimes. At the moment it sometimes takes up to three times slamming the door to get it to stay shut. They last one is usually a furious slam. Doesn't happen everytime, just sometimes. Any help would be appreciated.
Second door issue is on the half door. Both driver side and passanger side doors need a really hard pull to get them open. It's almost like they are dragging on the bottom latch. Top of latch is scratched and rusted, drivers side especially. Any adjustment that anyone knows of to make them easier to open? Sometimes you almost need to put your foot on the running board and pull with both hands to get it open.
On both issues I have done the lithium grease, PB blaster, WD, etc. Nothing seems to help.
your latch might be going on its way out. Mine started doing that and lasted a couple months but as of Friday I can not get it to work so I pulled it out and going to get a new one from Ford today. I had a bad door switch any way that need to be replaced. Not too bad to remove it.
Rear door problem is probably the lower latches starting to rust on the pivot. Grease them liberally with a pinpoint adapter for your grease gun. I waited too long and had to use a pry bar on the drivers side rear door to get it open.
