Is there a different bellhousing or adapter that will bolt the bellhousing of a 300 to a t98?

The T98 will have the old square pattern, and the 300 will have the rectangular "butterfly" pattern.

You could inspect the bell for the six and see if the transmission bearing retainer will fit into the hole in the bell. See if the top two or even one bolt hole matches up. Check the input shaft length.

Then it get's tricky. You may be able to drill holes to match the trans pattern. The question then would be is there enough material to thread into. Or could you put a bolt through from the back side and use it as a stud to hang the transmission.

Since the square pattern died as the 240/300 was born, I don't think you'll find a bell for the 240/300 with the old pattern.

An adapter would have to be fabricated and might interfere with the proper input shaft depth.

Interesting. I was going off info here:

https://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledg...ns/manual/t98/

6 bolts.....well, they wanted to make sure it wasn't going anywhere I reckon.

I found a bell with that pattern in of all places a Ditch Witch salvage site:

Does your current bell look like this?

Maybe more like:

Back to the start: What is the intended use? You could probably get by with the "later model" current butterfly bell with matching T18 or NP435 transmission from a later model pickup. You might also find a 300/NP435 setup from an economy model F600.
