Wired sound on accelleration

2002, 7.3 super duty
Another odd issue yesterday. When I was full throttle to "clean her out" and check things prior to dropping off at mechanic last night, there was this sound like something was rattling around inside a large tube somewhere in the mid/rear of the engine. At first I thought it sounded like my block heater cord/plug ratting in the front number with the wind. But with my loss of power issue and sluggish accelleration....I'm wondering if there is something internal

Didn't have loss of power..etc, but I once experienced a "dragging chain" sound and ended finding an empty crushed soda can in my spare, haha

No, more like a wiffle ball in a plastic 5 gallon paint bucket

Either a torque converter failing or a cracked flexplate
