Not a mechanic, but my guess would be you knocked off a vacuum line.

Are we supposed to just guess as to what you're working on?

He said he is not getting any lights on his selector and he has electronic shift on the fly. No lights means a power issue. Since he did transmission work, I am guessing a fuse issue for power to the transfer case would be one possibility.

Country Boy, did you check the fuse?

Yes I checked them all, I'm thinking either some electrical issue at Transfer case motor or gem

Do you have power at the transfer case? I haven't done it in a while, but as I recall it was really easy to do. Connections all good there, etc.?

I can take the scanner and get it to lock into 4 low, still no lights on the dash, but it does lock in, there for that should rule out bad shift motor, no problems on the wiring at the transfer case, I can use the scanner and check the switch, it shows it changing, so I think I've riled it down to the gem module, do you think I'm right, or do you know of something else I should check, is hate to replace it and it not be bed

I would not jump to the GEM without being sure and there several folks who know this system better than I do. I am hoping one or more of them will add their comments. I agree with what you have done so far.

So you can get 4 low, but not 4 high. My first thought is that sounds like a bad selector switch, but the question is why now. You did transmission work. Why would that effect your ESOF in terms of the switch or anything else really?

The only way I get 4low is using the scanner to put it there, it won't do it by the switch, the scanner will activate the transfer case motor, but yeah why this happened after I removed and installed the tranny is beyond me, I know it worked before hand because the tranny was so bad I had to use 4 low to get it in the garage, then it wouldn't come back out after I put the tranny back in, I had to manually unlock it

Okay, if you can not get anything with the switch, I would start there. I an going to see if I can find something on how to troubleshoot it.
