Transfer Case Switch

I switched out my NP273 transfer case with a used NP271 last month. I felt this was my best option since I have an electrical issue with the electronic shift and the 273 would not shift manually, so therefore since I had to replace it anyway might as well put a manual unit in there.

That's great, how did the swap go? easy? any issues? Are you leaving the stock vacuum hubs or replacing them with true manual hubs?

Slow! Due to the limited space and 4 bolts had to wrenched. I replaced the vacuum hubs with manuals long ago when a new vacuum hub broke again. I could have raised the cab to get more room but to me if I need to remove the cab to do maintenance its not going back on. I'll use the foundation for a more simpler ride. I also had to remove center seat and cut floor out to get access to 2 bolts. Since I had planned on building a custom one in the future that was a no brainer, I just got started early on another project
