Great looking old Ford!!! But, seriously...you can't post a pic like that and not give some details about that 70's something pickup! What year? Did you restore it? How long have you had it? Been a while or did you buy it that way? What's under the hood?

Don't care too much about that fancy new one.... But that old one makes me feel like a kid again...that's all I saw growing up in the Anthracite coal regions in PA...

I bought it in 1999 and restored it my self in 2000. Its a 1978 F150 Lariat with a 1992 seat, the engine it the original 400 thats been worked over, it has ac power windows and locks with keypad, auto wipers and led head lights. I will be installing over drive unit on it soon, it screams on the highway with the 3.55 rears i put on it.
My boys want it when they can drive but thats not happening.
thanks for the kind words.

Great looking '78. I see you might have LED aux lights on it. IF you want great LED headlights for your truck.....one of the VERY few companies that make legal, engineered, truly great headlights has a unit you can retrofit. They are not cheap, but their units are used on fire trucks, 18-wheelers, etc. It is JW Speaker, model 8800. I'm a lighting guy, but I have no affiliation with that company.

Was this a Lariat originally? Post the BODY code stamped on the Warranty Plate to verify.

1977/79 Ranger XLT's and 1978/79 Lariat's came standard equipment with Race Track mouldings, this truck doesn't have them.

The upper mouldings with the black vinyl inserts were standard equipment on 1973/76 Ranger XLT's.

And, power windows/power seat were not available in F100/350's and Bronco's until 1981.

No this truck was not a original Lariat, just used lariat interior upgrades. Always like the Lariat spec trucks. Upgraded the windows a locks and a few other things the way I wanted to make the truck. I like to customize and make my trucks unique more comfortable for me and the family.

Square headlights is a 79 grille and headlights. I should know, I had a F150 Short box, step side, 4*4 first truck for me. My dads 1 ton dually was a 79 and mine was a 78. Mirrors are later model, ford emblem on grille is later. In addition to interior pics above. Beauty truck, wish I still had mine.
