Need help with VIN Location

I have an opportunity to buy a wreck (severe rollover) to use the engine for my truck. Unfortunately there is no doors and they had to cut the pillar to get the people out. Also, the area where the dash vin is located is crushed enough where its not visible.

So, before I buy this no-title truck, whee else can I find the vin so I can verify it's not stolen or something.

My plan is to cut away the cab with a sawsall and haul the metal off as scrap.

I am time limited on this offer (been sitting on it for a month or so and now the guy wants it gone).

If no one pipes up, try contracting your local/state police dept or state motor vehicle dept.

What year truck is it?

Top right (passenger) side of the frame should be stamped twice with the VIN. One stamp should be under the cab directly under the passenger seat. The other should be on the front of the frame near the front corner of the engine. They both may require cleaning to read.
