Ambient Temp Sensor Replacement

Ambient Temp Sensor Replacement
I have the 2012 XL F-250 6.2 v8 , I have an ambient (outside air) temperature sensor that needs replacing, I ordered it and was told it is located in the passenger side mirror from the parts guy, there is a tap in the bottom of the mirror to access it, anyone have a replacement type video link of how to do this, as Im not finding one via youtube, pulling the tab off on the bottom of the mirror Im not really seeing the part I have as a replacement in the mirror..
Thanks for any help
PS, this is the XL version/work truck so ALL manual mirrors

Ok, so I cant find any how to videos, Looking at pictures of the access panel at the bottom of the passenger mirror and compare to mine on the truck,
heres the new sensor, notice the probe
theres a probe(maybe what it is) coming out of the hole in the access door, on my truck theres just a hole, I take the door off and theres no senor in the mirror, and of wire to plug one in.... who the hell would pull the sensor and maybe tear the wiring out that goes to the sensor? the truck is only going on 5 years old, why would you tear that wiring out, or as it looks someone did,the temp reading is all over the board, thus why I bought a new sensor, now finding out from looking to replace it that someone maybe didnt want to buy the $15 part so if we tear the wiring out maybe the temp readings will just go away? maybe...? what were they thinking if thats what they did.... so now me as the new owner is either forced to deal with the erratic temp readings that are of course wrong....or deal with what ever wiring mess it takes to replace the wiring to the mirror..
