1995 f350 7.3 eating up right rear tires need help

OK so I've got a 1995 a F3 50 crew cab long box 7.3 and when I bought the truck it's got 294,000 miles on it runs great but it also has a Banks Otto mind complete System on it with a TEE5 ship now I'm heating up right rear tires him it's obviously snowing in North Dakota right now so I'm having to drive around and for high with the hubs locked so I can get traction other than that I'll just sit there and spin I don't know if it's got too much power or what's going on but I did not put the system on the truck I bought it but any helpful comments suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you

From what I was able to decipher out of that paragraph-sentence, you are only turning one rear tire (like an open diff) and the one that is not turning is heating up when you drive?

Detroit Trutrac Differential, Helical Gear Limited Slip Differential - Vehicle - Eaton

This will help if you don't have Limited slip or a worn out one like I do

I bought one about a year ago and a master bearing install kit and STILL haven't had a chance to put it in. Its been long enough now that I am toying with the idea of doing the ring and pinion while I am in there (3:55 currently, considering 3:73). With winter approaching fast I need to get something done...mines 2WD with an open diff, so traction can be tricky lol.

To the original poster, I agree it sounds like your limited slip is worn out or atleast change the gear oil in your differential and add the appropriate friction modifier. Since you mentioned locking the hub I must assume you have 4WD and it is extremely unlikely your rear diff is an open diff. More likely the friction modifier and gear oil is in desperate need of a change so the factory limited slip atleast has a chance of working. Even more likely is that it is just worn out. Either way the trutrac is a superior product and worth every penny.

OP can remove Chip and/or go to stock tune to see if it helps out with not spinning the tires.

Mine was a 4wd with an open diff. It was a real pain to drive on wet grass or snow. I swapped in a limited slip unit and life is much better. You can decide the VIN to see which axle you have

An open rear diff seems counterintuitive on a 4WD to me. Course I am no guru nor genius either. I just assumed all 4WD came with a limited slip reared. It just makes so much more sense. I was pissed when I realized my 2WD had an open diff. Personally I can't wait to finally drop that truetrac in.

No hard feelings, but you obviously don't know much about auto manufacturers then. Lol
Nothing like that comes free. If it wasn't ordered with it, it didn't get it.

Open diffs do suck. Although I haven't had a problem with my 94, I do want lockers.

Never assumed it came free, your kinda paying for it when you get 4WD.

As for the auto industry i am fairly familiar, I am a Team Leader for a company that manufactures thermal/acoustical solutions for the automotive industry. When I was a much younger man I was in auto sales, so I am atleast remotely informed on the automotive industry.

I didn't know my Taco had LSD until 6 years later. I was messing with dash controls while STBX was shopping during a snow storm. Voila, LSD was shown on dash. I use 4WD instead since I don't want my brakes to wear out.
