Hi there, just picked up a 1990 F 150 4X4 Lariat for $350, not running, but looking for a project to keep me out of bars and dark alleys anyhow. Bought it from a 21 year old kid, who took it out 4 wheeling, only to get it stuck, got a buddy to pull it out, tried to fix it, messed it up even worse. I got it towed home, put a battery and starter solenoid, fired right up. It sat for over a year in the kids parents driveway, and they wanted it gone. Body is pretty rusted, in the front and the bed, but the cab and doors are solid. The odometer says 99,000 miles, cant tell if its 99, 199, 299 or more BUT the interior is damn near perfect, carpet and seats cleaned up good, the padding in the drivers seat feels about the same as the passenger seat. Any other cues on how to tell the mileage? The kid did not know, and bought it from the date on the title , 2 years ago with a loan from the bank. The main problem is it sat with mud caked under it, power washed the underside about 5 times so far and still get lots of dirt from underneath. also after driving it for a week a brake line rusted out, ended up replacing all the brake lines from master cylinder to the front calipers. Any input would help. I am calling her Merica because I am gonna make Merica great again. Name: 20160918_141105[1].jpg

You can look at the wear on the pedals and then take a guess as to 99 vs 299.

Oh that is a gorgeous truck. Keep the dog, makes it pop. Only my opinion, but the mileage is only shy of irrelevant. It has obviously been well cared for in its working past. Well, the kid did screw it up one Saturday night, but that is not a kids truck. Barring the damage of a joy ride, does she run strong? Looks like you scored big. If she runs well and the frame isn't buckled from the night(or two) that she was abused, hey buddy write us a story on how lucky you were today.
