Instrument cluster

I have a 1996 F250 4wd with a 460. Its an XLT and is pretty well equipped as far as a 20 year old truck is concerned. It only has the basic gauges from the factory. I want to get a factory cluster from the boneyard with the factory tach. Question is is the truck all set up from the factory to run the factory tach? Or do I have to modify something? Hoping it is plug and play. Oh yeah. My odometer is digital so I'm assuming the mileage will transfer to the "new" cluster? Thank you.

Find a '96 or '97 gas cluster, and it's just plug and play. Other years require rewiring the dash harness. To transfer the odometer take the whole speedometer gauge out of your current cluster, and replace the one in the tach cluster.

You'll probably have better luck finding them in Bronco's or F150's. F150's up to 1996.
