Why can't I find 19.5" 8 lug-6.50 bolt pattern

I'm ready to puke trying to find plain old oem steel wheels(non-dually) for my '56 C600.

Dynamic Dave said 1998 and older F-250& 350 trucks had them but I can't locate the exact model and year that came with them.

GM P30 had them, no luck.(GM part # 15963341). Budd 71470, 99372, 89340 are all supposedly 8 lug, 6.50 bolt circle, but I can't find any vehicle that came with them.

Can someone give me an exact models and year truck that came with these wheels, so I don't commit myself to an institution?

Regards, Mark.

Let's post a picture to get this started then I'll add detail.

National Wheel and Rim Association number X-45320 is listed in the November 1989 and earlier Kelsey-Hayes catalogs as their number 121885. It is listed as an optional wheel on Chevy/GMC 3/4, 1 ton, CP20, and CP30 trucks from 1967 to 1989. Note that it is 19.5" x 6.75". It is listed as replacing NWRA X-45257 which is K-H 108464. It is 19.5" x 6.0" and was originally an optional wheel through 1977 iirc. Earlier NWRA and K-H references also list X-45178 / K-H 85063 as a 19.5" x 5.25". I find GM numbers 335654 and 3995270 for this wheel, but find no other numbers for the wider widths.

I'll assume you are mounting your COE cab on a later chassis, or at any rate have modern axles. I found no mention on these above GM wheels for their center bore diameter. It may be that their center holes are too small for some axles. I know that earlier GM wheels have a 4 5/8" hole where Ford and Dodge wheels have a 4 25/32" hole. This prevents these early wheels clearing Ford full floating rear hubs. I don't know if this feature remained consistent on these more modern GM wheels.

If you can't find a set of these you can buy new custom single style 19.5s from Rickson Wheel and probably others. Here is their web page.

Rickson Wheel Manufacturing

If you want original Budd 71410 19.5" x 5.25" wheels that will accept stock hub caps there is a set at the below AKH retailer. This wheel was optional on F-250s and similar Dodge pickups and vans from 1956 to 1966.

AKH Vintage Wheels - Ellensburg Washington

And if none of these are able to meet your needs there is a guy named Matt Olson who sets up at Iola each year that seems to have a line on the old UPS style 19.5" x 6.00" wheels. These will clear Ford rear hubs but do not accept any hub caps. UPS, as the story goes, contracted for these (don't know the manufacturer and there are no part numbers) but when the service lives of their vans were up they crushed the vast majority. Olson has some that were saved. I have no catalog reference for these wheels but I've had my hands on them and they clearly exist. If you want Olson's phone number do me a private message. Stu

Edit - I find no other oem 19.5" Ford or Dodge wheel having the 8 x 6.5" pattern. The Budd 89340 is a DRW 19.5" having the big truck 5 x 8" pattern. The 71410 is the correct number I think for the one you cited, and I find nothing to match the other info you posted. Stu

I forgot a couple. And rather than edit heavily my above comments as I did last night will repost. Again these are for GM trucks. From 1956-1968 K-H 40261 was optional. A 19.5" x 5.25" that has hub cap clips. Chevy #3724686 and GMC #2339612. NWRA X-45037. As with other GM designs these have a 4.625" center bore versus Ford and Dodge's 4.78".

The other I remembered is K-H 43814 / NWRA X-45038. It has 1 5/8" positive offset (still a SRW design) versus all the others cited that have about 1/2" of offset. This was optional from 1960-1968. I don't have the GM part numbers. Stu

Thanks Stu, I knew you would come through with an erudite explanation. You are correct, the cab is mounted on a 2003 E-350 chassis. While my old eyes aren't the greatest, I think the center hole is 5". Also, I need a 6.75" wide wheel to accommodate high tires.
If I can find some X-45320 wheels, can the center be machined out to the 5" without compromising safety?
All the other numbers were garnered from this website, and others, so maybe posters didn't know what they were talking about. The rumors are that Frito Lay, UPS, and FedEx all used the 19.5 wheels. Maybe they were all the Chevy-GMC trucks you listed.
I also found this Vision wheel that fits the specs, but I don't know the center bore.

If all else fails, I may be able to use these as a fall-back position. Thank you again for responding so quickly. I may still have to pm you for Matt Olson's #.

Regards, Mark.

Stu:
I just called Ron's Rims on the vision wheel, and they are lug-centric with a 5 1/4" hole, so they would work if I can't find the OEM's.

I think I'd save the effort. I found in Accuride's 1986 catalog that their single style 16" (the biggest they offer) Chevy/GMC wheel, in a stud piloted mounting, has a 4.60" center bore. Their Ford wheel, similar to K-H, has a 4.88" bore. To use the GM wheels you'd be shaving 1/8" plus off the bore perimeter. Probably not recommended.

The Accuride catalog reminds me that not all lug nuts are created equal. There are 60° nuts that are most common, but also 90° nuts. If you buy the aftermarket wheels be sure to get nuts designed for the wheels. Stu

Thanks Stu:
I really didn't want to go with flashy polished wheels, but it looks like I will have no choice.
The Vision wheel pictured comes with lug nuts and caps, so my patinaed coe will have some unfortunate bling.

I sincerely appreciate your research and value your opinion, as do many others on this forum.

Glad to help, good luck with it. Have you thought about powder coating the aluminum? Could be done in a mat finish. I saw a set that my local guy did like that. Stu

When I spoke with Ron @ Ron's rims, he told me they come in a matte black also. Maybe a consideration, but the tires are likely to be very expensive.

Yeah, I linked them in my first post. But looks like they are a lot more expensive than the ones Mark found. Stu

But there's 2 other steel ones (gray/black) besides those aluminum ones.

I spoke with Rickson some time ago, as well the other custom manufacturers around the country, but the cost is prohibitive. There is a local fellow here in Michigan who will order blanks and weld and drill whatever you want for the centers, but I am a little leery of this route.
