Ride quality of snow plow prep vs. non

I've read a lot of comments about how the overall ride quality has improved. In the past, the snow plow package seemed to make the ride harsher (if no plow). Is that still the case? I started to look around and I'm seeing a lot of trucks with the plow package on dealer lots.

If anyone has driven a gas crew cab with and one without the snow plow prep I'd be interested in hearing what you think. Thanks

"Harsh"..... it's a truck. Prep package or not, it's a truck.

Plow trucks sell well in the fall especially. Dealers do not want to miss sales because of inadequately equipped trucks this time of year.

I've never been able to notice between the trucks. It does have a computer selected increased front end, or some wording like that. Hard to find a truck without it up north not because everyone needs it, but it's what makes a truck eligible for the plow upfit rebate. And it's an easy sell to someone who doesn't ($80 for an upgrade alternator). I hear some customers complain about not wanting it for the reason you are questioning, but I've yet to have a customer who has it complain about the ride to me.
