It just doesn't spool quick or make a lot of boost and it only really smokes on the 140tune and even then barely. My friend has rose wood injectors and the only other difference in our trucks is he has an auto. But his truck makes 30+ psi and smokes like a Cummins on the high tune. Maybe I'm good on oil but have a fuel issue? These trucks don't have electronic fuel pumps could that be it? Or did I possibly get a bad set of injectors?
You can check your fuel pressure at the Schrader valve on the side of the fuel bowl. Also check your ICP psi and IPR DC % like Travis suggested and then report back here.
We're not saying they are bad; that is just how you verify that you HPO system is in good working order. I doubt the OBD2 scanner will work but it's worth a try. Very few actually work as these trucks are not OBD2 compliant.
Ok I'll look into that link then it's better than spending hundreds I don't need
An OBD2 scanner will work, but most of the parts store scanners don't have the live data stream necessary to get the ICP readings from these trucks. It's not a truck issue, it's a scanner issue. I use an Aeroforce scan gauge in both my trucks and on other peoples trucks that I work on I use Auto Enginuity on my laptop. I've never used the Torque app before.
The high pressure oil is just as vital to fuel delivery in a 7.3 as getting the actual fuel to the injector. High pressure oil is what drives the fuel through the injector nozzle. If high pressure oil pressure is low, fuel volume per ms and injection pressure both decrease as well. Check your high pressure oil pressure. If you check fuel pressure you'll want to check your fuel pressure under load, so you'll need to rig up a gauge for the shrader valve that you can zip tie to a windshield wiper while you drive.
So I found the bottom orings on the two drivers side injectors closest to the firewall were split. I replaced them and it runs much much better. Maxes out my 35lb boost gauge now. Wonder why they split did I do something wrong putting them in?

They probably got split when you installed them if it has always run that way. Especially if you didn't lube them up really good. I usually pour motor oil on them and rub it around with my hand before installing the injector. I don't skimp on the oil either. There's usually oil running off the injector. lol
