I had a 97 f250. Turbo went out. Pulled the engine. Put stainless headers from diesel innovations. Bellowed up pipes, 71 mm phatshaft turbo with a .91 ar, lifted the cab to fit the turbo and a 4" down pipe with a stack in the bed, plus a air dog 2 all in one shot. So yeah keeping it reasonable this time lol
This is just the beginning, the build is consisting of a cross country, more fuel efficient, truck. I'm shooting for better than stock instead of my last build which was too much $$$ and big hp.
So I got everything back together and been driving the last two days. The spool up is ten times faster buts that's because it's a stock turbo with new shaft, billet wheel, ceramic coat. Exhaust back pressure max has doubled and peek boost is redhead faster. The BIGGEST unexpected change was the overall engine sound is muffled more. Like the cab is a lot more quit. I can still here the injection but no excessive exhaust noise. The last reading I got before the work I was getting around 85 decibels with a peek of 89. My guess is it dropped to around 75 decibels. Ounce I get a chance I'll get an actual reading.
