With the spout connector out it will start and run , but will not advance the timing it stays the same through the RPM range , with a jumper wire in where the spout goes it will not start or it will die after I try to hook it up after its running, can anyone help me figure this out or should I just leave the spout out and get a timing control to go on dash and advance the timing myself? Thanks

Base timing is 10 degrees. Make sure it is set to that. You probably better check and see if the harmonic balancer has slipped. have some one help you and watch what the timing does when they plug the jumper in.

Why are you using a jumper wire instead of the SPOUT itself?
