adding Turn signals to manual mirrors

Ok, I am looking to update to the square style mirrors with turn signals (nothing else) is this possible and is the wiring for my E99 already in place or would I need to add any thing else?

here is a link to the mirror set I am looking at

99 15 Ford F250 Rear View Tow Towing Mirror Manual with Functional Signal Pair | eBay

is what I am wanting to do possible, I know I could wire in the auto folding style with the stupid add a fuse crap and a button (easy enough)...

or these...(power fold)

No the wiring is not in place. You get the fun job of adding it yourself. I did this on my wife's 01.

For me, the easiest way to do it was to get some 4 way trailer wire and strip off two of the wires. I then tied into the running lights and turn signal at the headlight. Ran the wires along the fender in a split wire loom and ran it into the cab. There is a rubber tube that hides the wiring going from the cab into the door, so I just ran the wires through that rubber tube, spliced in some wire connectors to make it plug and play, and at first upgraded her to the 2005 mirrors with lights. Now she has the 80 and up square mirrors with lights and turn signals.

I'm ok with robbing a doner truck of any wiring if needed, would that help in making this operation plug and play?

I'd personally have a tough time going back to manually adjustable mirrors but have reall been thinking about this upgrade since I need to replace both mirrors.

Thinking this as well, but just install some led bullet lights to casing

You can tap the turn signal wires at the base of the steering column. No need to go to the front of the truck.
Front Left turn = Lt grn / wht
Front Right turn = Wht / lt blu

The running lights can be found at the 6-pin plug for the brake controller. Brown wire. Or at the rear of the light switch. Brown wire.

We have an '08 dually and towing with it is what made me do this to my truck. The square mirrors are a huge upgrade to the 99-0(7?) style rounded mirrors, especially in the bottom mirror. The most expensive part outside of the mirrors if you wire it like Ford does is the relay to make the switch work.

These are power top glass, power fold, and an added bonus of the ford mirrors is that 09+ have top and bottom defrost which some of the aftermarkets like 1A may carry now. I tried for a while to get an interior out of a newer truck so I could make the seat preset work but it ended up just being a momentary switch for some lights on the back.

Yes. Greatly.

Mike beat me to it.

Head over to the tech folder in the Excursion forum. Not only is the wiring laid out there for you, but there should also be a couple pics where some have mounted to switch for the power fold portion, if you desire to go that route too.

I strongly suggest you go with 1A Auto. Not only are they a supporting vendor here, but so far everyone who has posted in the Ex forum (where this mod is HUGE) that purchased from 1A has had good luck with the product received. The same can't be said for the smattering of people who have bought the ebay mirrors.
