This conversion is something I would like to do in the future, curious how the different pumps plumb up to the steering.

You have me confused. The Crown vics had a Ford CII pump with a o-ring style hose end That moved with the engine. The old saginaws had a solid mount hose end.

I have a 07 Crown Vic front end under my 66. I have a 351 from a 92 Bronco. The CV power steering hose hooked directly to the 92 power steering pump. It is my understanding that sometime around 91-92 Ford converted the connections from SAE to metric. The CV hose has a metric nut with a Teflon seal ring on the od of the nut. I had to replace that seal ring. Only available through Ford. No leaks so far.

O Ring not supposed to go on the threaded part. There is a place on the end of the metal tubing that accepts the o-ring.

1978 was the 1st year for the CII pump. Always had the same style fitting unless a vehicle had EVO P/S. (Electronic Variable Orifice) Variable assist.

Mine nvr had an o ring on the metal tubing, I'm wondering how the PO didn't have any leaking issues(or did he?) That o ring came with the new pump that I bought from O-Reileys ,, thanks for replying

I may be wrong but it looks like you've pushed the rubber line up on the fitting of the high pressure side and put a clamp on it. If this is the case, it WILL leak, the pump puts out too much pressure for a hose clamp to hold it. The high pressure side should have a pressed fitting on each end of the hose. You can have a local hydraulics shop make you a hose with the correct ends if you can't find an off the shelf one that will fit.

I bypassed the pump completely, it was leaking so bad we just hooked the in/out hoses together until I can find a solution,, now I have true manual steering,,as soon as I get the electric fan put in, I'm going to the hydraulics shop like you said ,,thanks for the help
