1985 Ranger 2.8 V6 2 Wheel Drive

I want to make my 85 ranger louder than it is now and I have heard that it is possible to just take off the muffler for it to sound better and louder. I'm thinking about doing that but are there any other (easy) options I should explore?

Welcome to FTE.

You live in CA--isn't there enough noise around you already?

You can replace your muffler with a Magnaflow or other fine brand of aftermarket muffler. These will range from a stocker to a glass pack that isn't much more than a straight pipe.

You need to have some muffler on there. No muffler will get you a fix-it ticket.
