Valve Covers

My current M/T aluminum valve covers started to crack so now I'm leaking oil.. more than usual, atleast. Any suggestions on new ones I should get? Aluminum? Cast Aluminum? It's a 351M motor with stock A/C so it'll need to clear that. Thanks!

Stay away from the cheap looking tin/chrome ones, they can deform and not seal properly. If you were going that way it would be better to get old junkyard ones and repaint them. I s'pose that doesn't really help much but I'd like a decent set for myself lol.

Here's how I did mine: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post16445898. Painted in Ford Dark Blue, sanded down to show the aluminum and lettering, and clear-coated with satin powder.

cracks

Heck remove and have the crack welded. Should be cheaper the new ones. You can clean and repaint when you have them off as well and you will think you have new ones!!

I've got a set of factory ones that are in pretty good shape but need paint... I'll ship you them if you ship me your cracked ones. Just another option. PM me if interested
