1996 f350 cummins swapped 460
Swapped the 460 for a cummins, I used the same transmission automatic e40d adapted it to the 12 valve cummins it shifts really hard due to rpms in the cummins, question is it possible to connect swithes to the trans to make it shift according to the engine? Or a cheap sulution for this? Help please.

I'm no expert on it, but I think it's a lot worse than just the engine rpms. The E4OD is an electronically controlled transmission that's controlled by the same computer that controls the engine. Without the engine talking to it the computer gets confused and at best puts the transmission into a limp-home mode where it shifts really hard (and I think won't go into OD at all).
To fix it you need to get a trans controller that's happy with the Cummins. I think that means getting an aftermarket controller. I've heard people talk about them here, but I don't have any experience with them and I don't recall what brand name(s) they recommend. I think they're talking in the $600 range (but I could be way off)
