110 outlet question

110 outlet question
I have a 2012 F-150 Platinum. I have a working canine and am installing a temperature monitoring device to alert me when the temperature inside the vehicle exceeds a safe maximum. The monitor device has a 110 plug. My truck has a 110 outlet in the super crew, but is not hot if the key is off. Is there a way to keep the 110 hot with the key off? Thanks in advance.

I believe the 110v requires the vehicle to be running for it to produce the current. There is no way to get 110v out of the 12v battery and have any charge left as far as I know. Law enforcement around here just leaves the car idle with the ac on. The temps go up so fast, it hardly seems safe to monitor it to see if it needs to be on.

As a former handler and supervisor of the k-9 unit....do not trust those things. I have seen them fail.
The 110 is only hot when on and would kill the battery if wired to be on with vehicle off.
The k-9 should never be left with vehicle off....hot or cold.
Windows should always be cracked ....hot or cold
Don't know if your trying to make a building unit work for a vehicle as all vehicle units should be wired directly to battery and run off 12v.
Again DO NOT TRUST these UNITS.

You may even want to consider installing a second battery (with appropriate wiring) under the hood to increase your available power.
