Keyswitch override button
So the ambulances at work have a momentary button on the dash that allows the key to be removed while the vehicle stays running. It cam be cancelled by the brake pedal. If the key is re-inserted and turned to the run position prior to canelling it, the vehicle stays running. Otherwise it shuts off. It is a very convenient feature to keep the heat/ac/electrical systems working while the vehicle is locked and unable to be moved. I was wondering if anyone knows of what these systems are and possibly where to get one.

Several companies make them and call them various things but I just call them ignition bypasses. Here’s one I’ve used on fleet vehicles.....

If you have keyless start, you can useForscan to accomplish the same for free. The option is called secure idle and it prevents the vehicle from being taken out of park when the key fob is not present.
