Truck was improperly towed, now axle seal leaks, coincidence?
Last Friday I came home from work to find that my 1997 F150 had been towed from it's parking spot so the HOA could seal the parking lot. The "paving company" wasn't supposed to be there until this week so no one was asked to move their cars. Because my truck was backed into it's spot, the tow company dragged the truck across the lot (about 10 feet or so) before the properly picked up the rear tires and towed it to the other side of the complex. There was slight damage to the tires from being dragged, but I don't think I really have any viable recourse there (I don't think I can expect them to put $1200 worth of new tires on the truck for the little damage that was caused to them), but I noticed that the right rear wheel/axle seal is leaking now. I never noticed this before (and I have had the drums off this several times lately), is it possible the seal was damaged from the improper towing or is more likely just a coincidence?
btw, the axle seals and wheel bearing were new when I rebuilt the rear axle about 20k miles ago.
Thanks

Here is how life often roll out in the construction jobs.
They likely laughed at it and the forman just said pull it away.
Were here to do this job.
A lack of communications with the HOA or some circumstance.
Your situation may be a bit different but that's the way thing often go.
Unless you go after both the HOA and the contractor, they just get away with it and will do it again and again other places.
The workers only do as the forman tells then to do.
Good luck.

They towed everyone on my street and the next street over. They also dragged my neighbors Buick, I don't know if any other's vehicles were dragged. All the vehicles were parked legally. Nobody was thrilled about it, the property manager seemed stressed about it and was apologetic. The towing company doesn't have the best reputation around here, but what towing company would? I don't know how things are going to go from here, I'm not seeing any other damage to my truck so I guess all I can do is express my concerns to the HOA.

If you're doing the work yourself you may be able to get them to cover the cost of parts and fluids at least. Explain the issue with your tires as well. Maybe there's a compromise you can work out, especially if the property manager is sweating it. But yeah, HOA's imo suck. I'll never live where there's one.
