Brake and Suspension Maintenance
Hey y'all,
I have an 05 Expedition, with about 147,000 miles on it, and have been doing some work to get it in shape to go another 150k miles.
I'm moving towards the brakes and suspension pieces now and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what to do here.
I'm looking at replacing the complete brake set up, pads and rotors (vehicle shapes when braking, so rotors are warped). What I don't have a clue is the suspension or where to start. Ball, joints, tie rods, bushings... What do y'all think I should look at and leave alone? I have a regular suspension, no air.
Thanks in advance!

For the suspension all you can do is replace everything with OEM parts if you want another 150K out of it. That's the shotgun method and it is preferable to some, while others prefer to replace parts only if they're worn. Often overlooked are the bushing that mount the sway bars to the frame. When going over bumps is when it becomes apparent they are worn, as demonstrated by a mild clunking sound like something is loose.
