I will try that first thing in morning. Even though says if security is flashing mine however is not flashing or even coming on once.

Ok i disconnected battery cable few minutes. Clear everthing out. Connected got in EX an security is flashing turned key to run security light flashes fast,all gauges sweep,left in run 30 45 seconds till light alows down. Turned off removed key 10 seconds. Security light still flashing slow however. Put key back in turn run security light atill slow flash no gauge sweeps an of course NO START WHEN TRIED!

Put key back in turn run security light atill slow flash
It's supposed to go solid for a couple of seconds, then go off.


I can't remember how it used to blink before I went with the Gearhead Hydra chip....
WTF? If you're running ANYTHING that is not stock, we have no idea what futzing around was done and how it's supposed to work now unless you tell us.

Yes stock no chips or programmers... my security light never goes solid. When i disconnect battery an reset everthing light flashes slow...when turn jey to run flashes fast for 45sec then slow. I turn key to off an remove light still flashes slow. Wait 10 sec key back in turn run light still flashes slow.

You might need to reset your PATS or delete any PATS code that is in the ECM. Sounds like it is not starting because it is in "theft" mode or it is not recognizing your key.

Mine is a 7.3, but when I first put a programmer on it back a few years ago, it did exactly what yours is doing. It would crank but not start. I had to go in and find the code that was set by the ECM for Anti-theft the new programmer triggered. I deleted/reset that code, and the truck started right up. I had all the flashing of the theft light just like you are having now.

That means that PAT has intentionally disabled the engine.

I have friend coming over tomorrow with the programmer. Will see what codes are in there. He was thinking maybe the "kill memory" might lost an keys need re programed. Will post what we find tomorrow evening

The PATs system likely set a code in your computer. You need to find the code and reset it. If the PATs still recognizes the keys, the truck will start after the code is deleted. Should be P1260...

Sounds like you may need a new key.I had similar problems two years ago.no starts.no fuel pump noise.then would start.noticed difference in theft light flashing..I finally got fed up with it and had it towed in.mechanics then had it towed to dealership. Sure enough.was the damn key.420.00 dollars later I had a new key and a great running truck again.lol.

Ive tried both keys same thing

The odds of TWO PATS keys failing at the same time are close to zero.

However, the odds of something else failing, like the transceiver, for example, and causing neither key to work are actually fairly reasonable.

Cleared codes started up drove all night no problems
