So the dealer gave me a vin and build date of 9-8. Ford chat says all they show for the vin is "order in processing" does this mean the dealer made up a phony build date?
I have the same thing going on. I don't think the chat people know their a$$ from a hole in the ground.
No problem.. I had just gotten off phone with sales girl and chat and found no progress. Cancelled trip scheduled for Lake Tahoe 3rd wk Sept. which I knew from 4 mos ago would be iffy but new truck would make it a great run out and back. Oh well, the calendar is full of one more week(s).
Hate you had to cancel trip . I thought I read on here you should drive truck 1000 miles before you tow . I'm going to follow manual if that's the case because this will probably be my last truck. I really do hope everyone gets there trucks soon. This site will be a lot more enjoyable after lol .
Original order got bumped to Oct 3 from August 29. Who knows what's going at Ford. This is the worst launch I have ever seen. It almost feels like I'm dealing with a mom and pop operation. They should have done a better job in planning. This is messed up.

I already downloaded the owners manual and it does in fact say to drive for 1k miles before you tow.

I haven't done that but will . I'll also be changing the oil at 2500 miles to get the break in crap out too . I did the same for the truck I have now .
Just think of the fun we are going to have together once we get the trucks and start the mods . Cold air intake and exhaust, tuners. I've been doing mods on my 2000 for 16 years lol and can still see stuff I'd like to do. So now it starts all over
I'm hoping thats the case and my truck is actually built 9-8
Ten days ago chat told me my truck was being built and it would be here on 9/11. Yesterday my dealer tells me it will be here 9/5, but today chat tells me that it's in processing and will be here 9/16. Etis shows a build date of 8/22. I'm not sure chat is very reliable.

I have a dealer trade in works. Originally ETA was 8/14. It was then changed to 9/2 and now 9/6. This is becoming a joke. I am starting to dislike Ford. Maybe that's why American auto manufacturers are losing ground to foreign companies. Who knows

Chat cannot see build date. They have told me this numerous times.
Rob - as far I can tell we are in similar boats. I ordered in late April. Yes I have a VIN, but that does absolutely nothing for me. I have had 5 build dates now, they are all total crap and seem more like something my dealer is making up to keep me at bay.
Nothing in COTUS, No Window Sticker, nothing in ETIS.
So I don't feel like I am any better off that's for sure. Feel your pain.
It may be Ford bumping orders. I have been bumped twice now. It seems like it's a holding pattern as they have for airplanes trying to land. You will land eventually but only GOD knows when. They don't have their act together at all on this launch.

I would not be towing or even having the camper on board since the manufacturer hasn't designed the hold downs yet. So it would be a great way to add 1000 miles just getting partway there. I have a friend in SanDiego who is also interested in wooden boats and he is moving his inherited shop and a few boats out there. I would just load some tools and truck bed items for this trip. If the truck does come this year we will use it to move another boat to SanDiego. Only this time I will drive back. Hopefully with the camper on board. Last trip was with a third party truck who wanted his truck in California....he owns houses in NY and CA and had driven his '12 F250 east and then flown back. First trip was with Steve's Toyota Tundra which didn't do too bad a job but it was really past the limit of capability. Here I am rambling again. Will repeat a picture of the rig in Omaha on the last trip. Just for something to muse about. The boat is a 1931 Dodge with a straight 8 Lycoming engine.
