2007 f150 5.4 3v engine vibration
Hi all,
I've been searching everywhere for answers and now here comes my first post.
I bought the truck last November with a bunch of issues. My most recent problem is a hard vibration at idle. No it is not the infamous misfire and stall. All timing components (chains, tensioners, guides and vct solenoids) have been replaced.
I've replaced the ignition coils, spark plugs, air filter, and fuel filter.
When I'm at a stop light or just idling in the driveway I can feel the vibration in the cab through the seats and the steering wheel. I can see the drivers side mirror vibrate but not the passenger side.
I've seen posts that are saying that this vibration is normal, but it seems a but harder of a shake than normal.
Would there be anything that would only affect the driver side bank and not the passenger side?

Been doing a little more looking around. I've noticed the vibration quite a bit from the air intake tube, but not on the power steering reservoir or the brake fluid reservoir. I can feel the vibration on the front tires and on the body. I've felt the exhaust manifold and it has the same intensity of vibration as the air intake.
Would the exhaust manifold give this type of vibration? There is no clicking or any unordinary sounds. I just feel vibration while the truck is idling.
Someone must have an idea that could possibly help me

Why did you replace the O2 sensor? If there was something wrong with it you may also have a cat problem. I had a friend with a similar issue and it turned out to be the fuel injectors. He changed them and it smoothed out alot. He then had to replace a cat because it was running to rich on that side and partially clogged the cat.

I replaced the 02 sensor because the voltage readings from my reader weren't fluctuating quite the way they should. When I changed the sensor, the tip had quite a bit of carbon on it, so i thought it was a logical option. the truck used to have the vct solenoid issue for months. I never had any lean codes, just timing codes. those have since been cleared up. The truck runs great now, but there is still a noticeable vibration.

i'm curious to see the responses you get. my '07 does the same, sometimes with a very intermittent momentary miss thrown in there as well. has done it since i've owned it (1.5 years), and i had new plugs put in before i drove it off the lot. i've been assuming it's VCT issues due to some other symptoms. anyways, i'm staying tuned.

I don't believe it is vct issues. I've disconnected the vct solenoids, which disables the system. The vibration is still present, even when the system is disabled. One option I've been reading about is the divers side knock sensor. I just don't want to throw parts at it, especially because the truck actually runs good.
