Trivia about 54 and 55 heater fan motors
With my purchase of my 55 about three weeks ago I noticed something was different with the heater fan motor. On my drive home I turned on the heater or i should say turned on the blower as the heater is always on with the recirculating heaters until you turn off the valve on the engine block.
Anyone know what the difference is? At first I thought I was mixed up. Then I checked my 54 blower control. I thought maybe I messed up the motor when I refurbished it 17 years ago.
Last night I was reading the original 55 owner's manual that was in the glove box. The first notch on the 55 blower is low, for high you pull the **** out the whole way. On 54 heaters the first notch is high and low is the whole way pulled out.
Anyone else notice this? How about 53's and 56's? How about 48-52 trucks?

Abe, my 55 works as you described so it must be right. I was going to replace the motor because it made SO much noise(even after opening it for lube) until recently when finally gave up on making noise and continues to blow air!
While on heater fans, I find I get allot more airflow on the windshield without the little trim piece over the vents, has anyone else noticed this?
