Just wish Walmart had more Motorcraft than just the oil and oil filters.

The Fram Ultra is one of the best filters on the market. The Fram Orange Can of Death though is very cheaply made. They work though. The orange filter was better made under Bendix. Then Honeywell owned them and now Rank Group.

Sign up and read on sites like Bob is the oil guy where they take apart filters and show the differences.....you will never use a fram again...

BITOG is a great site. That's also where I learned that the Fram Ultra is the prefered filter of a good number of people there. However, if in doubt buy Wix or Motorcraft.

I've been a BITOG member for years, but I don't buy into much of the hysteria over there(or here). There are millions of cars and trucks driving around with Fram filters, and they haven't all blown up. I've read a few third-person anecdotes of Fram filters causing engine failures, but it seems to be quite uncommon. I trusted the Fram-made Honda OEM filters I put on my Honda just fine.

Fords are easy, Motorcraft filters are available at Walmart at a competitive cost. They don't filter as well as the Fram ultra, but they do a sufficient job and meet all warranty requirements. That's good enough for me. Not sure what I'll be using on the Kia we just bought, but I probably won't be driving to the Kia dealer to get their filters. Might just use a Fram, who knows.

I usually like that guys videos but it looks like he took a used Fram that appears like the owner tried to clean with an airgun to prolong it's life and compares it to a brand new motorcraft.

I will use Fram airfilters if I can't find anything else and have never had any trouble with them.

Millions of VW Beetles with no oil filters, hence unfiltered oil. Millions of Ford Model T's with no oil filters, hence unfiltered oil.

Millions of vehicles using standard Fram oil filters with unfiltered oil...

I've read more than a few people talking about quality of the standard Fram filters, but you'd be the first I've read suggesting they don't filter. The typical complaint involves cardboard endcaps and how people think the filter will come apart.

I guess you can add the millions of Hondas running around with unfiltered oil, since the OEM filters are identical to the Fram standard ones.

Sure could. Honda only requires 65% efficiency.

Isn't hard to find Fram filters being junk. This thread shows the ADV not sealing with the endcap. General consensus seems that was fixed later to glued ADVs...

This may clear up how i feel about fram filters.
I was in a store and a woman was buying a filter for her truck.
She was about to buy a fram.
I said put that junk back and I will help you find a good filter and even pay for it.
She did and i found her a good filter that would fit her Dodge 5.7 and I pId for it.
Well this same woman remembered me when she saw me the next summer in a grocery store . She came over and thanked me....said she did some research and found out i was right. She thought at first maybe i was just being paranoid when she saw me in the Canadian tire store that day.
She now uses a different oil and no more scam errrr i mean fram filters on her truck.
That is how deeply i despise fram junk.
