Points dizzy and TFI coil?

Remember, you can't run el-cheapo points. Or condenser. Throw them away. Buy Motorcraft or NOS.
Point systems don't care about the coil, but they will burn up if the voltage is too high. When automakers switched to a 12 volt system they just dropped the voltage to the points and kept them the same.

Okay new points, condenser, and standard coil installed. I didn't take it for a long test drive because I don't have a good mount yet for the coil. This might be the best it's ran. No pinging, smooth, decent response. Not as much power as a good running tfi. But it might get better with alittle tuning.

I run the points/TFI ignition described on the gofastforless site. Love it.
Cheap, OEM, and all you gotta do is minor maintenance on the points.
full 12v, no ballast resistor, TFI coil.
word of warning on the DSII/GM module. i have wired this up 3 times, on 3 different vehicles. it worked beautifully on a OEM DSII dizzy, but failed twice on remanufactured units. no idea why. i found another post on here from 2011 of a guy having the same problem.

follow these instructions:
Points to Electronic Ignition Cheap & Easy | Adventure Rider
also:
1. remove the condenser, if that wasn't mentioned in the instructions
2. rather than power this through the ignition switch, i would use a relay.
