1970 stepside F250 w/360 manual

I just found a running 1970 stepside 2 wheel drive manual Texas Ford truck. I haven't dug into it yet but the shift linkage is screwed up, anyone know any pitfalls before I crawl under it?

As original, it's 3 speed on the column, since 1952 was the last year for a 3 speed floor shift.

Bottom of the steering column under the hood are the two manual control selector levers that the shift rods from the trans attach to. In each lever is a rubber bushing and insulator.

The bushings age crack, the shift lever binds up between 1st & 2nd.

Update, it's on the floor. I originally approached the guy with it advertized as a driving running truck. Figured new clutch shouldn't be too hard to sort out with a solid tranny....... wrong. First lol the starter caves and the seller needed to replace that, then I had a tranny guy with grey hair and busted up hands crawl under it, well he obviously knew the tranny and had a long and obviously well informed explanation of why it could be any number of things from the ball pivot deal, needless to say there it still sits

You sure it's not a 4 speed? If a 3 speed conversion, shift collar usually still present on the column minus the shift lever.
