Question Column Shifter Jamming

I have a three on the tree in my 77 F-100. The sucker kept getting jammed and would require me to get out of the truck and unjam it from under the hood. Finally I gave up on it when it started getting jammed all the dang time (usually would happen at the most inconvenient of times). So a couple of years ago I cut some holes through the floor of the cab by the very skillful use of a cold chisel and a hammer and now it is a twin shift three speed on the floor. I now want to set it back to stock and I am wondering if there is a way of repairing the shifting mechanism. The column is out of a 71 Ford. Thanks

So a couple of years ago I cut some holes ( sigh) through the floor of the cab by the very skillful use of a cold chisel and a hammer and now it is a twin shift three speed on the floor. The two manual control selector levers at the bottom of the steering column under the hood where the two shift rods from the trans attach have rubber bushings and insulators.

What happens (and this is very common): The rubber insulators harden up and crack apart (sometimes fall out), causing the shift lever to bind up.

C5TZ7343A .. Bushing & Insulator Kit / Use 3 speed Manual Transmission w/Column Shift / Fits: 1965/66 F100/250 / 1967/77 F100/350 / 1969/74 E100/300.

One kit does both levers. Ford obsoleted this kit two months ago, which you coulda bought a coupla years ago for 10 bucks. When last available, the price had risen to $30.73.

What the following sources are asking for it, I dunno.

RACETTE FORD in Oshkosh (by gosh) WI has 1 = 920-426-9020.

BLOOMER FORD-MERCURY in Bloomer WI has 1 = 715-568-2182.

GLACIER VALLEY FORD-MERCURY in Baraboo WI has 1 = 608-356-2222.

VINTAGE FORD PARTS in Beaver Dam WI has 4 = 877-846-8243.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 8 = 800-543-4959.

PARTS INTERNATIONAL in Farmers Branch TX has 18 = 888-727-0418.
