05 F150 xl oil filter

Mine has a 4.6 and was just wondering what oil filter to buy. The guy at O'reileys said there are two listed one standard and one metric.

Use a Motorcraft FL820S just like your owner's manual says to use.

What no one else can second that choice or what Henry Ford? I am sure the guy at the parts counter could give him three or four different options as well.

I didn't offer an opinion or an option, I gave him the correct data and its source, neither of which can be refuted since both were factual. Once that's provided, no additional chiming in is needed.

The Motorcraft FL820S has 22 mm threads, so any other brand you choose should have those threads as well.
Please keep in mind that the silicone bypass valve is mounted in the base of the Motorcraft filter, while most other brands (such as K&N and Purolator) utilize a dome mounted bypass valve.

The Motorcraft really is a quality filter at a very reasonable price.

Moto Craft filter 5 dollars at Wal-Mart, a no brainer. Ford nor any other manufacturer would recommend a inferior service part for their product.
