That is very interesting. What did you figure out with the cam sensors?

It was a waste of time really. There was a very small change (as in almost a pixel) at 1.5 millisecond per division (what I remember from 10-11 years ago) at an idle vs a black one. This held true for both pickups. Based on RPM at an idle, it turns out that the change was just under 3 degrees RETARDED vs the black one. From a tuning standpoint, it takes about 4 whole degrees to even make a discernable difference in the way the engine sounds at an idle.

I have a feeling that even trying two similar cam sensors would yield similar results....manufacturing tolerances, semiconductor variances, et al. will vary.

Now, the 140v "mod" DOES work. I've seen dyno results after doing that to a pickup with 7 good cylinders. I haven't measured voltage out...but picked up almost 12 HP on a back-to-back OBS test with one low-compression hole.

...made a typo. Fixed.

Interesting. During the IDM tests did you identify any factors that makes one better or more reliable in regards to hardware and output?

Good to have someone that knows some of these stuff I would of figure the voltage would be as advertice. Good job Cleatus, so is the 140v idm worth doing with the mods I have? As of now I have the 120v sd idm.

You have an "IDM-120", not a 120v IDM. As for the other question, I have never run any of them to failure but I still have a 100A and 100 in good working order on my 1995 and 2000. The 2002 in my 1973 still runs the 120.
