School me on IDM Voltages
#17
It was a waste of time really. There was a very small change (as in almost a pixel) at 1.5 millisecond per division (what I remember from 10-11 years ago) at an idle vs a black one. This held true for both pickups. Based on RPM at an idle, it turns out that the change was just under 3 degrees RETARDED vs the black one. From a tuning standpoint, it takes about 4 whole degrees to even make a discernable difference in the way the engine sounds at an idle.
I have a feeling that even trying two similar cam sensors would yield similar results....manufacturing tolerances, semiconductor variances, et al. will vary.
Now, the 140v "mod" DOES work. I've seen dyno results after doing that to a pickup with 7 good cylinders. I haven't measured voltage out...but picked up almost 12 HP on a back-to-back OBS test with one low-compression hole.
...made a typo. Fixed.
