Maybe Ford should have offered suitcase weights for the '39 short wheelbase owners! Great story and photo.

Wow! That Model T is a beauty! The slip-on box looks identical to the one on my '20 pick-up. The hardware for that box may have been from The Cleveland Hardware Co., Cleveland, Ohio. They sold a kit called the "Cleveland" Forged Steel, Ford Slip-on Body Irons No. 1-B Again, very similar to mine, but there were a lot of aftermarket companies offering parts for Model T's back in the day.

Keep us posted on her progress. And don't feel too bad, a lack of time and money is the bane of our hobby!

After seeing the close-up picture of the slip on bed in the other post, the bed might not be a Cleveland Co. unit. The flat bracket at the rear, on the side of the bed is not like mine. Mine is a round piece of metal with a curve going down to the flat and horizontal board.

It's still a beautiful example of the Model T's versatility. Whatever needed hauling- people or freight!

Be sure to take it to the DMV for any driver testing that may be required in the immediate family.

T as is

Don't worry guys, I plan to leave it as it is except for getting it running and repairing things that need it. I can't wait to drive it myself, lots to do on my other project before then.
