Hey guys,

Just reading the factory service manual to replace my rear seals. I was told if I'm replacing the seals do the bearings also. Are there 2 bearings per side I need to replace? Also races for both of those bearings also? I hear there is an o-ring I need to buy also.

Every body says replace the bearings. Ford had seal problems on these axles I have done dozens. I don't replace the bearings unless they are bad. Scored or heat scorched, chipped rollers the same with races.

Agreed with Roger.

Unless the bearing is bad, you are eating your money

but make sure to use a ScotSeal

 

Use Scotseal XL 34384
I did the rear disc brake swap and replaced mine. Way better design then the factory seals.
