I'm about to change the intake and crossover gaskets on my 2000 5.4 in my F150. Before I tear into it, I want to know about the hose under the intake. I've seen pictures of what appears to be a stiff hose as opposed to rubber. How does it attach? If I replace that hose, does it need some type of new connectors too?
I don't think its a hose, I think it is a tube and part of the water pump system. I have a post on the manifold change that shows the tube........ some have changed it out, I did not........ maybe they know the PN.
2001 5.4 It is a steel tube, part of the heater. You shouldn't have to mess with it. If you want to disconnect the heater hoses, there is a tool for that. You can reuse the fittings with regular heater hose and a clamp.
I'm down to where I can see it's a steel tube, and it looks like I won't need to mess with it. Even the heater hose connection at the back looks good. Thanks
