What is this part?
My 2012 F150 has these rubber sheets between the grill and radiator. In the attached photo you can see them between the headlight and radiator.
One of 4 sheets inside the engine compartment.
See the sheets just inside the headlights.
They appear to be there to direct air from the grill through the radiator. These sheets have already decayed/torn and need to be replaced.
Please tell me what these are called and what's their purpose.
Thanks

Your best bet will be to speak to the service manager at your local Ford Dealership; they'll be able to tell you definitively if these parts would be covered. How many miles are on your truck currently?

If those are defective/missing, wouldn't it affect the efficiency of the coolers? That would be a very bad thing if towing heavy in the heat of summer. I would think those aren't cosmetic, but serve a very specific function, so hopefully they'll get replaced under warranty. Cheaper than a badly overheated engine replaced under warranty...

Thanks for the replies. I'll try to respond to each below.
1. The parts are less than $100 and appear easy to replace myself. However, I do like the conveyor belt suggestion. That material would certainly be stronger than the material Ford provided. BTW that Ford material is very dissapointing.
2. The truck has about 38000 miles but is covered under a Ford Extended Service Plan. I'm hoping this covers the repair.
3. I think these would be critical parts for the cooling system. Obviously Ford Engineering spent the time to develop the parts and put them on the truck.
