This is my version of a top side creeper or as you like to call it "ghetto work platform". I thought about taking your route, but I have a hard enough time keeping my balance as it is and did not want to be standing on a swing while working on the truck. I fell on the truck once when a stool slipped out from under me and cracked a rib, not doing that again.
Cost all of about $3 and some scrap 2x12 that I had laying out in the shed.

I have that same Matco step. It gets a little dicey on anything larger than about a 315 (35inch) tire. Since I went back down to a 305 (33inch), I haven't had any issues. I also use a 2 step horse mounting block and a piece of PVC coated foam pool float to lye across. I am too old and soft these days to lye there on some of those sharp edges.

I plagiarized the following from a Class in 2003 or 2004 I attended when the 6.0 came to market. So, this was 10 years ago. But, I still use it as a guideline. I don't subscribe to a "one for all" application. From the 3.2L to the 6.7L (or 1982 to present) one has to almost have a Chemical Degree for the selection process.
When in doubt, I use the Manufacturer Coolant. ie: Ford, MOPAR, GM.
Also, I run the Green in everything. I don't think its that big of a deal to fully flush the system every 18 months or so. Takes a couple hours. And, by comparison, its fairly inexpensive. Also, a complete flush periodically removes particles. I out a container of SCA's in annually. About $5 each.
FWIW: Gooch has an excellent write up and information I found exceptional. But, I don't know if all this even applies as compared to todays coolants.

I use the second one in your pic, got it at pep boys. I use it on the rear as well to get stuff out of the Thule rooftop carrier when camping. Just gotta remember to remove it each time right away. Wouldn't want to drive off with it on the wheel.

I've also been running the Zerex, no worries. The maintenance is far less than the green, I think I actually added the VC8 only once. Also no worries on the silicate drop out. I ran two coolant filters for 50k all told, but both filter media looked like this. Decided it was unneeded with the gold coolant so I removed it. Plus the billet bling was like chumming the smog techs, made them look harder for trouble.
