Myyke's 2016 SD Inverter install
Got most of my inverter put back in with a few changes this time.
Master disconnect for the truck, 250 amp fuse & switched solenoid to the battery bank in the box.
Battery bank & Inverter
All nicely hidden, so won't lose anymore space than i have too.
Plug-in where little cubby (i never used) was under 4x4 switch.
Dash bracket for the controller. Someday i'll buy a sheet metal brake instead of using a vice & hammer. lol
All that's left is the 110 volt plugs in the box, but not sure how i want to do them yet this time.

In the cab for laptop, printer, laminator. Being in the oilfield, the plugs in the back are for everthing from lighting heaters, cutoff saw & everything in between. Once the canopy is back this new truck, too much of a pain loading & unloading generator moving from site to site. I get to charge it out whenever i use it & truck usually runs all day anyway.

Yep. Lol. Last summer when at a family reunion when the power went out for a few hours (unplanned) had to use it keep the party going. It doesn't really like big coffee makers or using cutoff saw on 6" channel iron, but i think once i put a high idle in this truck it should be ok.

Very nice, i thought a about doing this once. I actually have a 2500ish watt inverter that i want to install in my f350. I couldn't tell from your pics, did you have an inverter that had actual plugs on them and you ran an extension to the additional outlet you installed? My inverter is pretty big, looks like a car stereo amplifier, and its got 3 or 4 outlets built into the unit. That's fine for under the rear seat where I'm going to mount it (running appropriate gauge wiring to the batteries of course) but I'd love an additional outlet on the dash as well. Should i just use a really thick/heavy duty extension cord and cut the female end off and hardwire it to an outlet, or just get the correct gauge wire and put a male plug on one end, plugged into the inverter, then hook the other end to the external outlet?
Install looks great! I was going to ask what you power with it, but i saw that in your 2nd post. I want mine mainly for things like my drill battery chargers, etc.

The one i have is actually a pure sine inverter meant for a house. Doesn't have any plug-ins. Had a 3000 watt "shoebox" but it wouldn't run my drill chargers. Now it's a brandnew ornament on the shelf in my shed. Lol
If you want all your wattage with them, you have to tie all the outlets together, or take your wattage and divide by how many outlets for wattage for each seperate one.

My previous one wouldn't work because it was modified sine wave, instead of pure sine, like line power is.
Here is the link, mine is ms-2812.

i bought it off my brother for $2k. He bought it for a project that he changed his mind on. Seemed like a fair price to me, never did price it out to buy. I got to charge it out daily for the winter project i was on, got paid double what i paid for it. Lol. So all in all, it never cost me a dime, and when i decide i don't need it in my truck i'll use it for another project.
