Replaced bad camshaft position sensor per code but didn't fix
My 2005 Expedition 5.4 Triton started rattling and running horrible when at running temp and at low RPMS. Hooked it up to computer and it said "Camshaft Position Sensor " So I replaced it and she ran great the rest of the day. But the following morning my wife calls me saying it's doing the same thing. The computer said "P0035 camshaft position sensor "A" Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2)" and "P0022 "A" camshaft position- timing over- retarded (Bank 2) I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and when I reconnected it both codes were gone but it still running like crap. I checked and rechecked but no codes, so I'm thinking it's mechanical. Does anyone have a clue what I should try first?

There are NO codes that say "replace the xxx sensor". All codes do is to provide data about what the computer is complaining about. It is up to the technician to use the available data to properly diagnose the actual fault and then to make the needed repairs.
Check your cam phasers and tensioners.

So how do I figure out what it's trying say? Cause what your saying makes total sense. Cause my scanner and Auto Zones scanner both said my camshaft position sensor Bank 2 was bad, but the problem is obviously NOT fixed. I'm thinking maybe something to do with the fuel system is wrong cause I noticed today that when I let it sit idle mpg average on the display will steadily drop. Literally it drops .1 every 15-20 seconds, but when I get on road and drive it starts coming back up. But as soon as I pull back in driveway it starts dropping again. Any ideas?

Basically, you take the fault code(s) and look them up in the factory service manual. The service manual has the same step-by-step diagnostic steps that a service technician would take, at least until he learns shortcuts.
If you don't have a service manual and do plan on doing your own diagnostic work, get one. Service DVDs are readily available on eBay. In the short term, ask for help here and someone with the data will usually share it with you.
